CANNED FOOD PRODUCTION IN KOSOVO

Kosovo's food processing sector, particularly in canned food production, has been developing steadily over the years. The Prizren region stands out as a significant hub for fruit and vegetable processing. Businesses in this area engage in the collection, processing, packaging, and preservation of various produce. The production capacity for fruits and vegetables in the Prizren region is approximately 10,000 tons per day, encompassing fresh, packaged, and conserved products. Despite this substantial capacity, local production meets only about 40% of the domestic market demand, with the remainder fulfilled through imports.
